Mt. Juliet, TN - A local kid is getting a lot of attention on his special day after making his own birthday sign and demanding drivers honk when they pass by.
Chadley Brentsworth III says he was inspired by a news story where neighbors got together and created a parade to celebrate a local kid's birthday. He thought he deserved the same, but when no such celebration happened by noon, he took matters into his own hands.
"I don't know what was so special about that kid on the news," Chadley told reporters. "He looked like a dork to me."
Chadley used some of his mom's printing supplies and took a sign holder from a neighbor's yard to display his touching message.
Witnesses say Chadley also handed out slips of paper to anyone who slowed down long enough to say hello. The papers reportedly included his Venmo account number in case anyone wanted to send him a cash gift.
Chadley says his goal is to get 150 honks before he calls it a day. After nearly three hours, he's already racked up 63 beeps and five birthday wishes from runners jogging by.
"I've already got way more than kid got on the news got. I rock," Chadley said.
