Nashville, TN - According to reports, an overturned semi-truck full of macaroni & cheese spilled the vegetable all over the roadway on Wednesday morning causing traffic backups for miles.
The truck carrying 40,000 lbs of the southern veggie was reportedly bound for local Meat & 3 restaurants when it overturned at the I-40/I-24 merger. There were no injuries and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
A local mac & cheese connoisseur, Samuel Moody, told reporters, "I know it was an accident, but it's sad. From the farmers who pick them to the chefs who cook them, it's such a waste to see those perfectly good vegetables lying all over the interstate."
At this time, it is unclear how much of the truck's load can be salvaged, but local restaurants warn there could be a shortage of the vegetable until a fresh shipment arrives later this week.
