Nashville electric co. asks users to conserve energy by limiting power strips to 8 per outlet

Nashville, TN - A Nashville electric company is asking customers to help conserve energy during the heatwave by limiting power strips to eight per outlet.

"As this heatwave continues, we are asking all of our customers to make sacrifices and limit power strips to no more than eight per outlet." said a spokesperson. "That should ensure the integrity of our grid for most homes."

In addition to the power strip limit, the company recommends keeping thermostats no lower than 98 degrees and urges customers to stop setting portable air conditioners outside to cool backyards.

Tesla owners are also encouraged to switch to gas-powered cars to eliminate the further drain on electricity.
