Mt. Juliet, TN - Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, celebrated its 50th birthday on Saturday with fun for the whole family.
Festivities included a party at Charlie Daniels Park featuring water slides, food trucks, and a hot air balloon.
But maybe even more impressive is the side-by-side comparison showing how much downtown Mt. Juliet has changed in the past five decades.
"I think the photo comparison really says it all. It's amazing how far our downtown has come in the last half-century," said city councilman Bill Williams.
Williams said the city party commission is already working on plans for an elaborate centennial celebration in 2072.
"I can't wait to see what downtown looks like in 50 years," said the 73-year-old councilman.
