Man relieved to find jar of Jif in pantry purchased 9 years before recall period

Nashville, TN - Nashville native Bill Roberts was concerned when he heard that Jif Peanut Butter had issued a recall on several of their products due to contamination. He knew he had a jar in the pantry but wasn't sure if it was part of the recall.

A quick look at the code numbers gave him peace of mind.

Roberts told reporters, "Thankfully, my jar wasn't part of the recall. It looks like I bought mine around 2003 based on the code. So I'm safe. But you can never be too careful."

Jif products with code numbers between 1274425 – 2140425 and including the numbers 425 at the end are part of the recall.
