Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade revisits iconic 2021 moment with Bernie Balloon

New York City, NY - The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade returns on Thursday for its 95th annual march. To celebrate the anniversary, the New York extravaganza will boast six new balloons, including The Boss Baby and Snoopy.

The parade will also pay tribute to some of the most iconic characters and moments of 2021 with a new Baby Yoda inflatable and a mittened Bernie Sanders balloon.

A survey of 4,000 parade-goers found that 89% of participants were more excited to see the Bernie Balloon than any of the other 14 announced giant inflatables.

New Yorkers were especially delighted to have one of their own featured in the parade. The Vermont Senator was born in Brooklyn.

Thousands of others came from out of state to watch the procession and see the 40-foot Bernie.

"We drove all the way from California to see the Bernie Balloon. We wouldn't miss it. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said one couple we interviewed.

The 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade begins at 9 a.m. and runs until noon. It is unclear where the Bernie Balloon will fall in the lineup.
