Nashville, TN - Nashville native, Blake Almond, admits Valentine's Day had completely slipped his mind until his wife asked him Wednesday night where they were going for dinner on the holiday.
"I told her, 'It's a surprise,' which was technically true." Almond shared with reporters. "She was so excited."
According to sources, Almond retreated to the guest bathroom where he quietly called nearly 20 restaurants without luck. Finally, after an hour, he scored last-minute Valentine's reservation at Shoney's.
"I can't believe we got in," Almond said. "I feel like we've won the lottery."
The Inquisitor reached out to the hostess that took the reservation, who said, "Who? Oh, I don't know who that is, but people call all the time and ask for reservations. I just play along."
We also contacted Mrs. Almond for comment, but she was out buying a new evening gown for the special occasion.
