Nashville, TN - Firefighters across the country have come together for demonstrations to remind Americans not to deep-fry frozen turkey dinners.
"It's common knowledge to never deep-fry a frozen turkey. But you should also never deep-fry a frozen turkey dinner, especially if it's still in the box," said one firefighter we interviewed.
Beyond the fire hazard, frying turkeys still in the box could pose serious health risks as the packaging is inedible.
"Have you ever eaten a frozen turkey dinner deep-fried in the package?... Well, I have. Twice. And it doesn't taste so good," said one demonstrator.
Firefighters recommend removing the turkey dinner from the box, then microwaving on high for eight minutes.
