Dickson, TN - Dickson County dignitaries came out in droves on Sunday morning to honor the visiting Wienermobile with a 21-bun salute.
Councilman Rodney Martin told The Inquisitor, "It's not every day that we welcome such a distinguished guest to our great city and we want to relish every moment of it."
Martin said he proposed the rare honor at an emergency council meeting on Friday. The vote was reportedly 11-1 in favor, with one vegetarian holdout.
The ceremony kicked off at 8:30 a.m. with a few remarks from council members, followed by 21 buns projected from an 18th-century cannon into a loosely populated parking lot.
The iconic 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels will be welcoming visitors at the Dickson Kroger from noon to 5:00 p.m. and offer fans the opportunity to buy gear, take photos and even apply to be a Hotdogger (Wienermobile driver).
The Dickson Kroger is located at 143 Henslee Dr. For more information, visit https://www.oscarmayer.com/wienermobile.
