Daylight Saving protestor demands compromise to only set clocks back by half hour

Winston-Salem, NC - Charles Hammond IV represents countless Americans who dread setting their clocks back and forth by an hour twice each year. And he's spent the past decade advocating for the end of the practice.

Now, with less than 24 hours before we fall back yet again, Hammond is demanding a last-minute compromise to only set clocks back by a half hour.

"I think a half-hour change is a win-win," said Hammond. "I'd prefer we only set them back 15, but I will accept 30."

Hammond and a small group of supporters, including his grandma and cousin Bill, are currently staging a rally outside the Daylight Saving Authority Headquarters in Winston-Salem. Hammond says they won't leave until an agreement is reached.

"We're not going anywhere," Hammond told reporters. "And if they haven't accepted my proposal by 2:00 a.m. Sunday, then I guess we just get an extra hour to protest."
