Glasgow, Scotland - Nearly 90 countries have joined a global pledge to cut methane emissions on elevators by 30% by 2030.
On Monday, the U.S. introduced the Global Methane Pledge at the COP26 climate summit, and over 80 countries jumped on board immediately. However, China, Russia, and India remain holdouts, despite being top emitters.
"Let's face it, we all release too much," said one supporter. "We must all do our part."
Experts say excess methane is one of the easiest problems to fix since controlling leaks doesn't require costly equipment or advanced technology.
